Patty King Rennick
I have been working in the real estate industry since 1980. I started my career in Sewickley, Pennsylvania working for Merrill Lynch Real Estate. I was fortunate as a new real estate agent to have great support and superior training at our company. Sewickley is a small community outside of Pittsburgh and is home to old families in the steel industry and corporate executives. Pittsburgh had fifteen Fortune 500 companies in 1980 and much of my work was corporate. I loved my years there selling beautiful estate homes and helping corporate executives.
In 1985 I moved back to Lexington, Kentucky which is the state that I call *home*. I worked for a great company, Prudential de Movellan. Prudential bought Merrill Lynch and I was fortunate to have Tony de Movellan as my new broker. Again, the training was wonderful and I will always be thankful to Tony and his trainer, Ben Willis, for their guidance. I did a lot of work in the Relocation Department and helped move executives again. Lexington is in the heart of the Bluegrass and the properties and my customers were interesting and wonderful. I particularly loved the farm properties for which Lexington is famous.
In 1990 I started a construction company, C-K Builders, in Lexington and was the general contractor while still selling real estate. I loved the experience of designing and building homes. That experience has assisted me a lot with the selling of real estate. I have a general knowledge of what things cost and what is possible. I dissolved that company when I moved to Vero Beach.
In 2002 I moved to Vero Beach. I have been coming to Vero Beach since 1975 to visit a good friend at John’s Island. In 2002 I decided to move here permanently. I joined my husband’s company, Rennick Real Estate and Auctions, in 2004. Again, I have had the opportunity to sell beautiful properties on our beautiful barrier island. My husband has an Auction Division and I have loved learning that facet of the business. I have been trained in the auction business and have assisted my husband in well over 200 auctions. Did you know that almost all of the homes in England are sold at auction? It is an exciting way to sell property that is quick and efficient.
I love to play golf and I have a love of gardening. I was a member of the Garden Club of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, and I am presently a member of the Garden Club of Lexington. I was the Conservation Chairman for our club in Lexington and went to Washington annually to lobby on the hill for the Garden Club of America. I was also the Cookbook Chairman! We are famous for our two wonderful cookbooks, Blue Grass Winners, which fund a gorgeous formal garden at the historic home of Henry Clay in Lexington.
Moving to Vero Beach has been a happy decision for me. I still see my friends from Sewickley and Lexington because many of them come to Vero Beach for the season. I feel fortunate to live in this beautiful place and I feel fortunate to have great clients. Please feel free to call me if you have questions about anything. I will help you find your special place in the *sun*.
